How do you set the language and date on the digital binoculars with camera?

Short answer: you do not need to set the language, because the menu of the Zoomble 12x32 Digital Binoculars with Camera is in English only and has no option to change the language. You do set the date and time yourself: press the menu button, use the left and right buttons to go to the date and time item and open it with the camera/OK button. A Dutch-language manual is available on our manuals page.

We received this question this summer through our contact form: a customer was looking for a Dutch manual because they could not set the language and date. They were not the only one. Below you can read why there is no language menu, how to set the date and what the English menu words mean.

Can you change the language of the digital binoculars?

No. The menu language is English and cannot be changed. Our supplier confirmed in September 2026 that the software of these binoculars only contains English.

So why do people look for a language menu? The English factory manual for this type of camera binoculars lists a menu item called "Language" with eleven languages. Our model does not have that item. So if you cannot find it, that is not your fault and nothing is broken.

How do you set the date and time?

The numbers in brackets refer to the parts in the manual.

  1. Hold down the power button (3) until the screen turns on.
  2. Press the menu button (5) to open the settings.
  3. Use the left button (4) and the right button (6) to go to the date and time item. In the English factory specification it is called "Date/Time".
  4. Press the camera/OK button (9) to open the item.
  5. Use the left and right buttons to set the year, month and day, then the hours and minutes.
  6. Confirm with the camera/OK button (9).
  7. Press the menu button (5) or the mode button (8) to return to the normal screen.

What do the English menu words mean?

The menu uses short English terms. These are the main ones according to the factory specification. The spelling on your screen may differ slightly.

In the menu Meaning
Date/Time Set the date and time
Time Stamp Show the date and time in the corner of your recording (on or off)
Format Card Format the memory card
Video Size Video resolution
Photo Size Photo resolution
Loop Recording Continuous recording, old recordings are overwritten
Auto Power-Off Switch off automatically after a set time
Screen Brightness Brightness of the screen
Restore Default Back to the factory settings

Why is the correct date useful?

With the correct date and time you can see later exactly when you took a photo or video. That is useful if, for example, you keep track of which birds you saw on which day.

Want the date visible in the image as well? Then turn on "Time Stamp". The date and time then appear in the corner of your recording. If it is off, your image stays clean.

What else should you do the first time you use it?

Once you have set the date, do these two things right away:

  • Format the memory card in the binoculars themselves. The 32GB microSD card is already in the device. Go to Menu, choose "Format Card" and confirm. That helps against messages such as "no file".
  • Set the eye width before you focus. Bend the two halves towards or away from each other until you see one round image.

Is an English menu a problem?

For most users, no. You only need the menu for the camera settings. As regular binoculars you use them without turning on the camera, with 12x magnification and 32 mm objective lenses.

For the camera, you set most things only once. After that you take photos (5 MP) and Full HD 1080P videos with one button and view them right away on the 2.4 inch screen. Want to see how that works in practice? Take a look at the 12x32 Digital Binoculars with Camera.
